This is the signature food of the country. The unique mix of different ingredients will surely leave you breathless (literally because it is really spicy). Although originally made with jumbo shrimps, over the years they have also incorporated chicken, fish, other seafood and even mushroom in the recipe.
However, if super hot food does not really tickle your taste buds, this national dish maybe the one for you. There is an endless variation for this but the main ingredients you can find in almost all of them are stir-fried noodles, bean sprouts flavoured with fish sauce, a bit of chilli powder, and crushed peanuts to add more texture.
Another staple component you can find in every Thai cooking is chicken and of all the recipes made out of it, this one is one of the most popular. This dish has a unique set of tastes, which is a mixture of very nice kind of sweet and a little bit of spicy feel to it.
If you are more of a vegetarian who is looking for a different kind of salad, you should have a serving of this. This is mainly used as a side dish but you can feast on this alone. This is made of un-ripened papaya with tomato and yardlong beans.
These are just some of the popular gourmet food you must try while in this glorious country. But do not just stick to eating out in restaurants, why don't you try and learn how to cook some of these?
